AgLEC Receives a University-Wide Departmental Teaching Award

The Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication (AgLEC) was presented with the University-wide Departmental Teaching Award (UDTA), recognizing a department within the university that has made a unique and significant contribution to teaching. The Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication (AgLEC) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln features highly dedicated, hard working, student-oriented faculty and staff who function efficiently and effectively as a team.

Demonstrating a commitment to teaching and to the success of students, AgLEC raises the standard of teaching excellence in training Nebraska’s young people in agricultural education, leadership and communications.

AgLEC has distinguished itself through a wide range of notable awards and achievements, identifying its mission as "fostering human capacity in leadership, education and communication through innovative teaching, research and outreach."

In fact, AgLEC faculty members are constantly using new technologies and teaching methods – such as distance education – as well as persistently evaluating the effectiveness and comprehensiveness of their curriculum, and setting high standards for the education and training of students in undergraduate and graduate programs.
